Minions crochet pattern

Materials:

  • Yarn:
    • Yellow (for the body and head)
    • Blue (for the overalls)
    • Black (for the gloves, shoes, and goggle band)
    • White (for the eyes)
    • Gray (for the goggle)
    • Brown (for the eye detail)
  • Crochet Hook: Size appropriate for your yarn, typically 3.5 mm (E-4) or 4 mm (G-6).
  • Safety Eyes: 10mm or 12mm (for the two-eyed Minions) or one 18mm (for the one-eyed Minion).
  • Polyester stuffing
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch marker

Body and Head (Yellow):

  1. Rnd 1: Start with a magic ring, 6 sc in the ring. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: Inc in each st around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: Sc 1, inc around. (18)
  4. Rnd 4: Sc 2, inc around. (24)
  5. Rnd 5: Sc 3, inc around. (30)
  6. Rnd 6: Sc 4, inc around. (36)
  7. Rnd 7-26: Sc around. (36)
  8. Rnd 27: Sc 4, dec around. (30)
  9. Rnd 28: Sc 3, dec around. (24)
  10. Rnd 29: Sc 2, dec around. (18)

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Stuff the body firmly with polyester stuffing.

Overalls (Blue):

  1. Rnd 1: With blue yarn, start with a magic ring, 6 sc in the ring. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: Inc in each st around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: Sc 1, inc around. (18)
  4. Rnd 4: Sc 2, inc around. (24)
  5. Rnd 5: Sc 3, inc around. (30)

Fasten off and leave a long tail. Attach to the body around the middle. You can embroider or attach a small pocket in the front as seen in the image.

Arms (Make 2) (Yellow):

  1. Rnd 1: Start with a magic ring, 6 sc in the ring. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: Inc in each st around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3-6: Sc around. (12)

Change to black yarn for the gloves.

  1. Rnd 7-10: Sc around. (12)

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Attach arms to the sides of the body.

Legs (Make 2) (Black):

  1. Rnd 1: Start with a magic ring, 6 sc in the ring. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: Inc in each st around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3-5: Sc around. (12)

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Attach the legs to the bottom of the body.

Eyes (Make 2 for Two-Eyed Minion or 1 for One-Eyed Minion):

  1. With White Yarn:
    • Rnd 1: Start with a magic ring, 6 sc in the ring. (6)
    • Rnd 2: Inc in each st around. (12)
    • Rnd 3: Sc 1, inc around. (18)
    • Rnd 4: Sc 2, inc around. (24)

Change to gray yarn for the goggles.

  1. Rnd 5: Sc 3, inc around. (30)
  2. Rnd 6: Sc around. (30)

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Attach the safety eyes in the center of the white part and sew the eyes to the head.

Goggle Band (Black):

  1. Ch 35 (or as long as needed to fit around the head).
  2. Row 1: Sc in each ch across.

Fasten off and sew the band around the head, just above the eyes.

Hair (Black):

  1. Cut several strands of black yarn, approximately 4 inches long.
  2. Insert the strands at the top of the head and tie them to secure.

Mouth:

  1. With black yarn, embroider a simple smile on the face using a yarn needle.

Finishing:

  1. Make sure all parts are securely attached.
  2. Weave in all loose ends.
  3. Adjust the stuffing if needed.
