Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn in the following colors:

Using orange yarn:

Legs (Make 2):

Change to blue yarn: 4. Rnd 5-8: sc around. (12) 5. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Arms (Make 2):

Using white yarn:

Stuff lightly.

Headband:

Using yellow yarn:

  1. Ch 50, join with sl st to form a ring.

  4. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Hair:

Using white yarn:

  1. Ch 10, starting from 2nd ch from hook, sc back along the chain. (9)
  2. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
  3. Repeat to make 12 spikes, each with slight variations in length (from 7 to 12 chains) to give the hair a dynamic look.

Attach the spikes around the head, starting from the back, and working your way to the front.

Assembly:

  1. Sew the legs to the bottom of the body.
  2. Sew the arms to the sides of the body, just below the neck.
  3. Attach the head to the body.
  4. Sew the headband around the head, just above the eyes.
  5. Attach the sash to the waist, wrapping it around and tying it at the front.
  6. Embroider the eyebrows, nose, and mouth using black yarn.
  7. Attach the hair spikes to the top of the head in a layered fashion.

Finishing:

  • Weave in all ends.
  • Adjust stuffing if necessary.
